friendship

Contributed by me on Sunday, 4th May 2003 @ 06:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Here I offer you my love
In a form you may not recognize
This love has been offered you before
but I think you passed it by

You ignored it, even laughed
But I wish this time you won’t

Though you might not recognize it
I hope you might appreciate it
And although you might not use it
You must always know it’s there

I don’t offer something grand
Nor expensive, nor even new
I offer only something humble
And yet precious, (I believe)

I may not always be there
But be sure that this love will

So whether distance or opinion
Might divide our ways
Always know you can return to me
Even in the darkest days

Don’t expect me to believe you
But I am willing to forgive
Don’t expect me to deceive you
but you can ask me to relieve

So again this gift I offer
And I pray that you’ll accept
I offer you my gift of friendship
I offer you my love…

Ahh this was good sometimes our friendship we offer is thrown back in our face. If your love is not returned this time don't try again. Onceagain I loved this poem. Way to go.
