I'm a Florida girl, born and bred
Hear the sound of waves in my head
Barefoot, stickers, hot summer days
Sweat, beaches, as nice as they say
Hours spent sitting on the beach
Watching sea turtles lay eggs, a treat
Books to read, body toasted red
Lazy, bored, not much more to be said
Married a snowbird, flew to cold winter days
Watch the weather change into many plays
Not having my beach used to make me fret
But my life north brings me no regrets
Years have come and gone since then
Memories fade, still can remember when
Striding along the shore, wasting time
Picking up seashells, time's natural rewind
Staring out at the blue ocean water
It gave me courage I wouldn't falter
Time upon time was mine for the taking
Love, life would never be forsaken
The ocean will hear all of your secrets
Will remember your deepest regrets
Music created by waves is soul mending
Time with no measure on sand never ending
There is truth knowing home is within
Start out slowly, never sure where to begin
Going through the days, checking each spot
Finally, you'll always find the one sought
Like the waves that ebb with each tide
Life is bigger than the ocean wide
No end to what you can achieve
Be sure love and hope is what you leave
