Dear Emma

Hell I know it's tough when you know not what to think
You don't want to miss a thing, you even fear to blink
I want you to be sure that it's all okay
You are who you are, I'd have it no other way

Stand if you can, on those two feet of your own
Because they're all you have when the world's left you alone
Without others you are nothing, with them you are less
Everybody's got their own mistakes to confess
Somewhere down the line, someone failed a test
One of such importance that it doomed all the rest
Remember that if you need something comforting to hold
The mistakes aren't yours, they're of all, young and old
Don't pander to them, they've nothing on you
You just keep batting for the side you know's true
And when the alpha's well behind and the omega's near
Suddenly I promise everything becomes clear
Before those eyes will pass all that you are
And it'll dawn on you that you've come so damn far
You've done so well with the horrors you've seen
Those darkest days, but a distant haunting dream

There was always another; for you I meant less than nought
And to think of all the better things for which I could've fought
It's too late now to change the script that's written
The past is the past, it's the future I may fit in
Though I don't know if I'll ever see you yet
I hope that I was enough for you not to forget
Alas our paths were too different, they snaked too apart
In the same way that you took away my heart
But we never stop trying, we never give in
Fortuna favours the brave, so someday I'll win
Somewhere in your soul there could be something of me
A tiny little shred of my common decency
I cannot change you more and I don't want to try
I can't control you and make all those feelings a lie
I guess he made you happy, but we shall see
Just know my love is never-ending, and I give it you for free

regaining love is very easy understand the sentiments your words can be changed to reflect the sentiments of the other and drag them. my poems do that very nicely.

lots of emotion packed in this write. I like the way you've rhymed written with fit in. Nice job overall,
