The Best Part Of Me

If in my life one perfect deed,
In this I know I did succeed,
For when I am gone I leave a trace,
A daughter born of my seed...

A smile upon a lovely face,
Once dressed in calico and lace,
Daddy's little girl, now full grown,
Shines true with beauty and grace...

Now out and about on her own,
Never will she be all alone,
I am there within her heart,
Deep inside my love is sewn...

When the day from this life I depart,
I hope she knows my love was true from the start,
As a fathers love knows no bounds,
And, of me she is the best part...
