selfstruggles

The essence of my being is slowly fleeting,
My transience is breaking swiftly like dawn,
But dusk is where my loyalties remain,
Life or death my heart readily mourns.
Ask me where I lie to be forsaken in time,
I shall tell stories of all of my expiditions,
Foraging for a meaning and a place to be,
Not finding truth but only apparitions.
I will not find myself inside of this great beast,
For it is the beast who is inside of me,
Executed without trial and my head on a block,
Burnt and tossed into the amber sea.
The facts of life contain my secrets and lies,
Preserved in stone they will not wither,
Just a day away from being eternal in suffering,
I've had nothing to return but a souless shiver.
