Are we just friends? Is that all we are?
Will I always have to love you, from afar?
Can we take the next step? Will it ever be?
Can we escape the ‘friend zone’, and be free?
The tension between us, grows every day,
The looks that we share, things we don’t say.
The fleeting touches, the sparks that fly,
Can we really allow, our chance to slip by.
What is it that stops us? Is it just fear?
Our feelings, we pretend not to hear.
We should take the risk, come what may,
If we don’t, we’ll both regret it one day
I’m pleading now, I want us to be more,
You the one for me, of this I am sure.
Although our friendship may end,
To me you’re more than a friend.
