Back to You

Contributed by genius_guitarist on Wednesday, 4th January 2012 @ 10:42:14 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

My journey seemed never-ending

I was lost for many years

Not sure which way to go

Frozen in my steps by fear

And then I heard a voice

When I thought I was alone

It led me out of the woods

This voice, much like my own

The voice belonged to you

My friend, you set me free

An exit where I least expected

From someone so much like me

There were many ups and downs

As we fought to climb life's ladder

But we always had eachother

And that's all that really mattered

Time had passed so quickly

I never thought I'd see this day

I waited, but you never came

So I knew, you'd moved away

My smile was starting to fade

It felt like you were gone

But I could hear your voice tell me

That I just needed to hold on

Though many roads lay ahead

I'm certain I'll make it through

There's no need to be afraid

When all roads lead back to you

That was beautiful. I really felt something when I was reading it.

a really good flowing rhythm, and the poem itself is great. True friends are hard to find and its even harder to truly express what that friendship means to you. great job
