The polished wood of the coffin shines, in the noon day sun,
Without you in it, life is just not going to be any fun.
The coffin is lowered in the ground, surrounded by tears,
In your honour tonight, we will raise more than a few beers.
You went before your time, of that I’m sure,
Your absence is going to be, hard to endure.
You were loved, more than you ever knew,
People like you, there are simply too few.
You brought light to our lives, with your wit and charm,
There was not a soul on this Earth, that you intended harm.
We will miss you in ways, too many to count,
A void in our lives, and a great hurdle to mount.
I bid you well in your new journey, of the destination I’m sure,
I just wish, of your time with us, we had been granted more.
So farewell for now and keep up your tom foolery,
The love that you shared, will forever be your eulogy.
