UNCOMFORTABLE

Do you feel uncomfortable
Each time you hear me say,
That I love you Oh my darling,
Each and every single day?

I know that you believe me,
But I'm not sure that you care.
I’ve heard it said in love or war,
That things aren't always fair.

If you'd rather I be silent
And say those words no more,
I still will say them to myself
As I walk along life’s shore.

I'm sorry if it makes you blush.
Or causes you much shame.
But I can't help the love I feel
At just the mention of your name.

Tomorrow may not ever come,
I must live just for today.
And leaving might be tempting,
But darling I beg you stay

In all the dark poetry I write, I am drawing on my experiences as a Law Enforcement Officer and receiving ideas from what others have actually said to me over the years! I am a happy go lucky guy who just tries to convey the anguish of others in verse.

Unlike you, I don't have the luxury of writing about others anguish. I end up writing about my own. I like the flow of the poem a lot though. I feel like you wrote this about me though, which makes me sad.

This is a stellar write that rings true with a lot of us. Life and love run their own course, sometimes it seems we're just along for the ride. This is an outstanding write with depth and a bit of heart. tfs
