I Refer You, Heaven

I Refer You Heaven

I refer you heaven
To dream song
One hundred and eighty seven
(of poets and their skins)

Berryman was bearded
And full of words
But he jumped

Plath was pulled
To brilliance
Yet she’s dead

Lessons from the dark side of words

Delve deeper into darker recesses and release what is within and you walk a very fine line!Essentially I think not a chosen path, this path choses you.You have highlighted the darker side of writing, and the price well written.

I liked this one - thoughtful and well designed.

Sylvia married a child's dark father fantasy but wrote some great poetry as a result. Her depression would have been well treated now, instead of being scoffed at and attributed to 'hysteria' - and her poetry would have transitioned beautifully with age, I think. The Bell Jar was a great read but it was as stifling as she designed it to be. Talent has its costs.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
