last night you went out again,
drunk a few with the men.
with every sip you slip further away,
so promise me you wont drink today.
only 1440 minutes more,
if you drink again im out the door.
you kill me and you kill yourself,
so for once think of yopur health.
i'm not joking, the bottle or me
just dont drink again, you will be sorry.
i know you can do it, just try,
thats what i should have said yesterday *sigh*
but its too late your already dead,
last night you never came to bed.
all i got was a phone call about you,
you werent just drunk, you drove too.
took a 16 year old aswell,
for that u justly burn in hell.
why didn't i stop you?
why did i let you drink?
could have told you not to,
could have told you to think.

You did a good job on this poem. I must agree with Shari, my father is also an alcoholic and threats do no good. They do as they do nomatter what.

beautifully written. i wouldn't describe myself as an alcoholic(but no one does) but i did have a drinking problem, sorta. on behalf of drunks everywhere, it's not an easy habit to break. it's almost as hard as smoking. but i did stop, and now i rarely drink, and never very much. but i digress, a very touching write to have been inspired by a poster.
