Pneumonia Blue
The thermometers have left
on quiet feet
this room of sheets
A visitor came down the tubes
to chat of this and that;
of everyday:
He raised his hand as if to say
a word or two
I coughed
and he was blue
pneumonia blue
I saw he had come to see
if I was ready for eternity
(1988)

An alarming read. I am glad you made the choice to quit. I hope my efforts will one day pay off as well. I've tried to quit several times and each time is better than the last but I am still smoking.
Good Job!
