Have we met?
Or is your arogance
just a remembrance of
another, who once conquered
my castle walls?
Did we share drinks
at a different time
in a familiar place?
Your eyes that smile
I'm sure they've danced
across my senses
at a younger time.
My arms are telling me
that we embraced intamacy
and perspired into
one anothers' pores.
If my lips are to be believed
I have tasted your
sweet warm breath as you
laid upon my chest.
Dare we move beyond this moment?
Should I not heed this deja' vu?
Scanning the archives of my mind
I find no scars within my heart
that bares your signature.
But reluctance chokes me
as it tugs fast at my reigns.
Yet, if I stay behind locked doors
I would never see the
stars and moon ....again.

Very powerful write depicting struggle as the voice of experience is resounding and cannot be ignored and yet the romantic heart wants to take a chance knowing what could be!The perfect genre to bring this age old struggle to the fore. |
