Word - Love

Contributed by dvtpdw on Friday, 30th December 2011 @ 11:40:53 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Love is a word that can install hope or fear
Most often its meaning is so unclear
It's a word that's banded about freely
Can create withdrawal or touchy feely

Romantic lovers who use the word love
Have visions of roses, clouds, a white dove
A parent brings images of hugs, warmth, care
A storyteller uses it to describe the story they share

Young teens find the word intriguing and sweet
Married couples build a life around this when they meet
Elders feel the word always in their heart and soul
It's amazing what one word means, the feelings it holds

Some who have been defeated by love in the past
Will stand back, not expect any love to last
Child, adult injured by the ones they love
Tend to be distrustful, keep their heart gloved

I wonder when love grew into such different vines
How did we take a wonderful word and change it's define
God gave us this feeling to share with each other
Be it parent, sibling, neighbor or lover

I know we can reclaim love, its true bliss
If we stand side by side, all make the same wish
How great the future we will give to children everywhere
Imagine how glorious life will be, all we need do is care

Well expressed. Love is universal than anything. Dollar / Pound / Rupee has changing values. love does not change You can give / share but cannot buy

A love-ly poem! It's simple, the 'word' is well explained, and the rhyme scheme enhances the flow of this poem.
Peace
Ammar
