The mirror

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

As I look in the mirror, what do I see
I see a 10 year old girl staring back at me
The one who was called ugly, fat and more
With herself she was at war

As this girl who stares back at me
Can you ever guess what I see
I see me 4 years back
When I was convinced that I was fat
Never once called pretty or anything more
Yet again I was at war

She was called fat and ugly plus much more
For her to feel pretty it was much like a chore
All the kids laughing and calling her names
Put this girl through much shame
The pointing and laughing brought her to tears
This happened long ago, but she still feels the same after all these years

Welcome to YPDC.
This is so sad.
People can mark you for life with out even trying.
Bet you are beautiful.
Hang tuff and keep writing as it helps to get it out and heals.
Blessings, prayer, inner peace,
emy

You want to know what I see in you, even though this world can be a cold and heartless place to live? I see someone's "Daddy's Little Girl" The apple of someone's eye, who is so loved and beautiful inside as well as on the outside that the world would have had to create you had you never been born. However, I don't know of a single girl who hasn't uttered the exact same words you have here, many times over! Even some adults. There will be no weigh in's when we get to Heaven and God loves you unconditionally the way you are just because you are you. And so do I. You are unique, and a beauty! Don't ever listen to anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who tells you differently. You are a precious creature created to love God and for Him to love you in return. And since you are that special to Him, you are certainly special to me as well. Write about the beauty you see all around you and everyone will see the beauty that's you!
Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns
