The dark of night is not my friend
All the monsters it does to me send
I huddle under my clouds of fear
Not one can I see in my vision clear
I count the minutes, nay each second
Time ticks on, tick tock to no end
I peek out beneath my shroud of gray
Has the sun come back for another day
Is this light able to move a blue moon
The day will win my battle in this lagoon
I know if I hold on real tight and scheme
Evil will disappear from this crazy dream
As I go past statues of golden mist
I'm headed toward a secret tryst
I feel the magic anticipation wane
Phone rings, aw, I'm awake again

very nice poem. it is not often that we have nightmares we can not wake from. but when we do the only thing we can hope to wake us from them is the out side sound of an alarm or phone, and the light from the sun. thank you for sharing. |
