All Hail the Night

Contributed by Nathanielrene on Thursday, 29th December 2011 @ 03:00:23 PM in AEST
Topic: insomniac

All hail the night, which starts the day
All hail the day that comes after
The sunken void within your soul
Requires yet another chapter
To lie within and not seek truth
Our little things consume us
The breaking skies, shall fall around
And shelter what I needed
So falter not, lest ye become
A part in nights unending
The will to live and to survive
Such will remains unbending
The nestled hope, inside us dwells
And to the horizon, flocking
Like unto sky, the birds to worship
As little deaths, unmaking
We let our souls seek peace aloft
Where above the pain, in ardor
The heart, it feels and beats again
The ship to seek safe harbour...
All hail the night, which seeks the day
All hail the day, once found
The sunken void, filled up with soul
...this, the final chapter

Astounding and very memorable. Figurative warnings to heed presented with a poetic skill that leaves me a bit envious. All hail the night, which seeks the day. All hail the darkness which seeks the light.
As you know poetry is based so much on reader interpretation but what strikes me here is the idea of praising that which is dark for its struggles to accept the light. Rather than praising the light for its inability to understand the dark. Contemplative and amazing!

BRAVO!

Work while the day (light) is at hand,
for the night cometh where no man
can work! (the Bible)
Very enjoyable write.
Blessings,
