MONA WHO?

Contributed by robert_edgar_burns on Thursday, 29th December 2011 @ 10:24:17 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Photobucket

Someday I will certainly paint you.
Mona Lisa will curtsey, then bow.
This masterpiece yet to be painted,
But I’m sure I will do it somehow.

You captured my heart and my soul love.
I live for you now every day.
Creating great art is my passion.
And my passion for you lights my way.

My skills aren’t as great as the masters.
For I am a novice it’s true.
But when the artwork is unveiled dear,
The real masterpiece still is you!

You are my one and only subject.
And nothing shall get in my way.
I’ll never be lost in my work love.
Where you are is where I’ll always stay!!

Mona Lisa might hang in a gallery.
A work of art, she is priceless it’s true.
But what hangs in the gallery of my heart,
I have labeled her as Mona YOU!

Very enjoyable work. I was especially struck by the third stanza, which in turn sums up the truth about many of our works. Whether we are untalented, average, skilled, or brilliant the real art work lies in that which moves us to write to begin with. You've summed that up nicely.

Good Job!

I failed to mention my adoration for your presentation as well. I hope that's someone you know, but even if not, it is a fine presentation.

The pictures on this poem are all
of my beautiful wife Kathie at different
stages of her life! We've been married
going on 42 years now! I am thanking
everyone now in advance for your comments.
Blessings.

I hope she is yours but if not it's a great sentiment. You don't need oils. You just painted her with words.....Priceless
