My heart keeps flying like a dove,
Is this called love?.
I cannot sleep; I cannot eat,
I wait for you hours in blistering heat.
Everyday seems as fresh as dew,
I nowadays dream only of you.
Your teasing laugh rings right to the bone,
I see your gorgeous face in every stone.
Everything around appears so nice,
I see a world without any vice.
I eat shoe polish applied on bread,
the neighbors now evade me in dread.
I get inspired by many an ancient lover,
I smell your fragrance in every flower.
My life is now in complete pell-mell,
every second away from you feels like hell.
I now get medicines in a platter,
my friends call me a mad hatter.
My heart keeps flying like a dove,
Is this called love?.

Great poem! " I cannot sleep; I cannot eat,
I wait for you hours in blistering heat." Don't I know this so well ... you have captured the feelings perfectly. ... Jan |
