Lavender, blue and yellow
wildflowers dot the hill.
Her gaze dreamy and distant,
her elbows on the sill.
She thinks of someone far away
inquiring is her gaze.
inaudible and deep her sighs
she thinks of other days.
A dust cloth lays there watching
by elbows where they rest.
Mundane chores are waiting
for the moment she's digressed.
Dreams have taken over
she's unmindful of the time.
Until her reverie is broken
by the old clocks chime.
At last her deep sigh can be heard
as she pulls herself away.
Mundane chores have tired
they must be done this day.
Soft hands grasp the dust cloth
elbows leave the sill.
In her heart she carries thoughts
of flowers on the hill.

A melodious, thought proving write,
full of what might have been!
Very touching poem.
Blessings,

Very good - Very Very Good, the last two lines are memorable. Keep on with the fine writing. |

a gentle penning, with depth and shades of sorrow and apprehension, of want and what-if's. I'm sure there will always be someone peering up at that hill covered in flowers. Quite an effecting write. tfs |

Your words are very lovely & dreamy in a wistful, forlorn way. . . transcending syllables,
your poem moves one on to experiencing the feelings of a pensive mind. . . thanks so
much for sharing. elle |
