The Burn

Flames that turn skin to ash
Dwelling on your sordid past
Filling voids with empty lies
Only love makes you this blind
Each word for face value
Every plan a con
Tearing at each other
Till everything's gone
A fire that consumes all once its started
No one avoids it
Even though it leaves you broken hearted
Ride the whirlwind day after day
Only love can make you feel this way
It'll make you stay
But only bring pain
We seek it out again and again
For the burn alone and the thrill of sin

Very talented write! Everyone with a heart
has experienced these emotions at some
time in their life. My advice, time heals all
wounds is too shallow. A hurting heart needs
truth. and truth can be summed up this way:
Christmas is about a baby Jesus.
Easter is about His blood that flowed.
The rest of His Book speaks about forgiveness,
And that's the only way true love is shown!
Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns (Rob) |
