A NEW YEAR ARISES

Have you ever stayed in bed for a day,
And never thought once to get dressed?
For this year past that’s all I have done,
Except for hospitals and doctors I guess!
I won’t drive anymore as much blinder am I,
Than Clarence the cross eyed old Lion.
The pain that I suffer every second of life
Makes me sometimes wish I was dying!
This coming new year will soon be right here.
The one that will pass went by fast.
Still I’m bedridden, thinking not would be kidding,
But I’m hoping this old body will last!
I will cry till I laugh, and laugh till I cry,
For emotions are all I have left.
The pen firmly in hand, on the paper I rant,
Hoping no one is left here bereft!
It matters not through ill health or good,
If my face holds a smile or disguises.
The world will still orbit and certain am I,
In due time a new year arises!
So goodbye to this year, “Could be worse though I hear,”
Coming from those who are wanting to help.
I will be grateful each day, being truthful I say,
“Happy New Year everyone and myself!”

| LOL, been a few years since seeing good ol' Clarence The Crosseyed Lion. An enjoyable read here, leaves one thinking. The older I get the shorter the years seem to be, and the wealthier the politians. Wonderful write of course. Much enjoyed. |
