He didn't know what it was that caused him,
to look over his left shoulder.
A strange invisible force that could not be seen nor heard,
yet carried such a persuasive power.
Then it happened,
there amongst a bustling crowd,
their eyes connected.
He froze in sudden stillness as she continued to walk away,
their eyes locked in what seemed like a perpetual stare,
yet they both knew it could not last forever.
Without any effort or understanding why,
his heart skipped a beat and swelled beyond control,
a love so sudden and so unexplainable washed over him.
She strained her neck as if trying to hold the stare for just a moment longer,
then she was gone.
As she passed out of view he felt a sting in his chest,
as if she had plucked a thread from his beaming heart.
She continued to walk away,
and as she walked his heart unravelled,
and in an instant it was broken.

A thrilling and transitional plot I see here! Indeed when one falls in love he breaks his heart. Love must be achieved gradually and is mutual. Thank you for sharing your insight and hopefully others will take notice too,
