Gargoyle Progeny ( Epilogue )
Slashing - - ripping - - eviscerating all
Before it - - the beast came on - - unyielding
I turned and saw that everyone was running
Snarling - - it came on - - then one would fall
A hideous shriek and a wave of a giant claw
Gone was the unfortunate - - nothing remained
I fled for my life - - everywhere laid the dead
Surely it was sated - - it could not take more
With a last vestige of energy I flung myself to
The floor - - exhausted - - prepared for death
The eyes of the Gargoyle flickered over me
I sat up and opened my eyes - - ready - - but
To my side lay Melissa - - abed - - asleep
I lay back with a silent prayer and lay awake

Wow Al! This here's a kick butt epilogue to those gargoyle characters! Here I didn't have to look up many words. Excellent momentum of mastery in yer writes recently.
