Forever Scarred.
Written by, Josh Alker
Standing at the waters edge,
Staring at the ocean.
The memory like a poison,
Like a deadly potion.
I didn’t think it meant anything,
Then I realized it was severe.
Now you have no idea how it affected me,
None of your experiences will come near.
The pain you made me go through,
The pain you made me feel.
Locked in by a jar,
Trapped by a tight seal.
I have to live with this,
For the rest of my life.
I am forever scarred,
Cut by your knife.
One day I hope you realise,
What you did to me.
I hope this world,
Will make you see.
That I will never be the same,
No matter how hard I try.
A part of me,
Laid down and died.

Heart-felt and traumatic is the tone of your wonderful write! The past can act as glue to the paper-like soul. Yet it is painful to attempt "to win the war" as another fellow poet sees the same situation. God bless and may you keep writing beautiful poetry,
Deidra |
