The Tide Pool
The tide pool is alight with blue anemone
The slick chiton is quiet in the fog
As the walking gulls retreat
The molds of jellyfish
Sea urchin and the kelp
Weep in the web of mist
In my embrace
The brittle silence floats into the sea.
(half moon bay 1971)
