I used to be bitter, at the world, at my life,
I lashed out at everyone, my anger was rife.
The pain was enduring, the cause in the past,
I couldn’t get past it; forever, I thought it’d last.
I couldn’t get over, the things that she did,
The lies that she told, the things that she hid.
I didn’t think I was capable of change,
That love, I could never again exchange.
Then you came into my life, and saw through the rage,
You understood my pain, released my heart from its cage.
You helped me feel warmth, comfort and hope,
I’ve fallen again, down the slippery slope.
Now I couldn’t be happier, I’m free from the pain,
I’m out of my prison, free to love again.
The reason is simple, the reason is true,
Why have I changed ? The reason is you.
