ARE YOU JUST USING ME?

I used to love a woman
Who would only tell me lies!
She tried to mix stories with some truth
That got compounded every time she tried!

I asked her “Are you just using me,
So that some things can get done?”
“Do you lie when you say you love me,
When I tell you you’re the One?”

“Are you just using me
When you let me hold your hand?”
“When you wrap your arms around me
And make me feel just like a man?”

“Are you just using me
When you let me kiss your lips?”
“Or even when I take your hand
Pressing lips to fingertips?”

“Are you just using me
When it’s time to pay the bills?”
“Then step away just for a day
And trust that I’ll be waiting still?”

“Are you just using me
Because you really needed too?”
“If that’s the only way to have you,
Then Darling, use me - do!”

And so I let it go so far
She bankrupted me from inside.
She broke my spirit till I kicked her out,
Now that love for her has died!
