Turning Of Teddy

Contributed by ever1der on Friday, 16th December 2011 @ 09:15:37 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

My teddy sat there comfortably
on the pillow; glaring.
Cigar held behind his back,
caught red-handed he sat staring.

I guess he just got lonely
ike a pup that rips and shreds.
Or a mis-fit killer
that strangles or be-heads.

I can only guess.

Surprise overtaking me,
I sucked in and held my breath
The teddy bear was turning
I felt quite close to death.

He saw my jump, heard the sound
then sat up rather quickly.
My stomach felt quite queesy.
Momentarily I was sickly.

Was he now a killer? I think the answer's yes.

A green ashtray handy,
he squashed out the cigar.
The one eye that was left him
twinkled like a star.

He stood up rather slowly
then he began to walk.
Coming ever closer ...
when did he learn to stalk?

My mind began to wonder.

The stubbed cigar was smoldering
in the green glass tray.
Could I defeat this bear in battle ...
would I win the day?

Had he watched the t.v
learned karate or kung fu?
I stood frozen in the doorway
not knowing what to do.

Passing by me stealthily
like an evil looter,.
He hurried to the desk
which held my computer.

Ignoring me completely,
which caused me some alarm.
He logged into his facebook ...

and then began to FARM!!!

I assume your Teddy is a mean spirited
cigar chomping burglar of a Polar Bear.
Cold as Ice but at times nice!
Cute! Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns (Rob)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
