You’re happy now, and I must say I’m glad,
I hated to see you so torn up and sad.
I wish it had been me, who made you smile,
But it hasn’t been, not for a long while.
You have wonderful kids now, which is just great,
I’m sorry I wasn’t ready, I asked you to wait.
When I look back now, it was the right thing,
To not give you children or a gold wedding ring.
Your husband seems stable, a very good man,
He’s given you everything, which i never can.
You’ve moved on with your life, a big house and car,
The difference between us, is just too damn far.
You mourned me far too long, before you accepted my fate,
I wanted your world full of love, not blistering hate.
So for now I say goodbye, to watch over you no more,
It’s time for me to move on, through that bright shining door.
