HISTORY BLISTERY

Photobucket
Someone gets injured so they put up a light.
Coffee gets spilled, during any bar fight!
Who’s drinking coffee when sitting at Cheers?
Maybe not whiskey, but at least a cold beer!

Adam told Little Joe to jump up on his horse.
He put a saddle on Hoss, with Ben laughing of course!
Captain Kirk gave commands to straightaway fly.
While Scotty drank rum or at least he seemed “high!”

Father Knows Best, just try that title today,
Too many liberals would contest what you say.
The actor Robert Young, turned to Bob old one day.
His appearances vanished when he passed away!

For Dick Van Dyke I know nothing that rhymes
So I’ll skip over him so I’m not wasting time!
Mention Marilu Henner, I go Va Va Va Voom!
My wife really hates it when she’s on our boob tube!

When Danny DeVito played that muscleman’s twin,
I did not believe it for I look more like him!
One was retired when he revealed his great shame,
He was so sad to give up the Kennedy name!

Entertainment has history, for the actors who play,
All the characters we loved on their episode days.
But what did they give up to reach riches and fame?
History is Blistery, and forgotten now are they!

Brilliant, what a fun read! Thank you for the whimsical walk back in entertainment history. Especially enjoyed the Trek and westerns references.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
