You are the joy that envelops my life.
If only you could conquer your strife!
Though other men have deeply hurt you so,
There are some things that you should know.
I'd put you upon a pedestal high,
Then spread my wings and begin to fly.
To guard you from the clouds above
With the armor of this humble servants love.
I’d be ever mindful of your every need,
And always found loving in all of my deeds.
I would never in ten millions of days
Depart from your presence to fly away.
What could ever make me leave my perch?
To bow at your feet back down on Earth!
Those other men, who I’ll never know why,
With selfish hearts chose to make you cry.
But one new thing now that I hope you can see,
Is you may always count forever on me.
You are my priceless gem, a precious thing.
May our love always soar, as you’ve given me wings!
