Uhnestar

Contributed by reebeat on Wednesday, 14th December 2011 @ 05:02:34 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Uhnestar was a unicorn.
As uniCORNY as can be.
But no other unicorn
understood his corny needs.

He liked it when
the birds did sing
above his window pane.
He loved when he sat outside
to the pitter pattering rain.

One day Uhnestar took a walk
to his baby sister's home.
He walked on in and there she was,
building her own drone.

"What is that?" Uhnestar asked,
but Lillith, she just laughed.
"Oh, you goon.
You cheeseball dude!
It's a cyborg, her name is Sam."

Uhnestar's horn twisted in ponder,
"Say...what is that?"
Lillith rolled her eyes at him,
"A cyborg, her name is Sam!"

"Sam? What kind of name is that?
I mean, one for a girl."
"The kind of name I picked, Uhnestar.
One for boys and girls."

Uhnestar trotted from her home,
lost in the thought of "Sam."
He wondered if she'd marry him,
or he she'd understand.

But, "No," he sighed,
remembering what she was.
She's a meer robot, nothing more.
But of course, nothing less!

So that night he lay in bed,
remembering what Lillith said.
"A cyborg named Sam."
She didn't say she couldn't marry him!

So Uhnestar jumped straight out of bed.
He plunged for the phone!
I nearly broke the phone in two
by how hard he hardly phoned.

"Uhnestar?" He heard the line say,
followed by a yawn.
"It is I, your big bro guy.
Say, can I talk to Sam?"

"No you can't!" Lillith said.
"I haven't got that far,
Sam, she can't quite talk.
What do you even want?"

"You never told me
your cyborg Sam
could never show affection."

"Oh Uhnestar,
just stop! This is just another desperate plea
for that beggard of attention."

"I think I love her!
I don't know.
I want to get to know her."

"Uhnestar, stop!
Remember mom?
Why she named you Uhnestar?
You knew that you were coocoo,
I mean, different , from the start!"

Uhnestar hollered and then hung up the phone.
"Curse that Lillith, saying I can't marry!
Bosh, what does she know?"

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
