Voluminous Rock Homage
Deposited by glaciation eons ago
you have seen more than most will know
Ravished by hail and sleet and snow
wind and sun and asteroids the story goes
If only you could articulate your wisdom
in a form I could comprehend
My confusion would palliate and mend
Igneous embedded soul
harboring life in all its morphology
where the simple stratification
harks to complexity profound
Wicked weather, does it not bother you
the damage you inflict?
Bamboozled.
Eons and eons through thickets of time
enduring in seemingly perpetual motion
Voluminous rock, what a misnomer
You are more a boulder
Nevertheless, I am indebted to you.
