I should have listened to that little voice, as it whispered in my ear,
All that time that passed, all those long years.
Finding the right words to say, to tell you how I felt,
I should have just said it, I should have just dealt.
I watched you get hurt and broken, by men who didn’t care,
And though my shoulder was there for you, it’s not what I wanted to share.
I knew I was the one for you, your true and only soul mate,
But I didn’t speak up and I denied us that fate.
And then you moved, and I lost our chance forever,
Why didn’t I tell you, that I would leave you never.
My love is lost, my hope has departed,
I am devastated and broken-hearted.
Now time has passed and I think its buried deep,
Then I hear from you and again I begin to weep.
I’ve never felt such pain, such hurt and such strife,
I’ve lost my best friend, my love, my life.
