Scribes and Pharisees hypocrites.
In with the righteous crowd they stood.
They feigned being Heavenly minded,
But in fact were of no Earthly good!
There are people I know who act pious.
They know all the right things to say.
But when it comes to their actions,
Holiness gets in their way!
Don’t ask such a one to lend a hand,
If it’s something that’s not fun to do!
And if you are one of poor spirit,
They will turn their faces from you!
But if a thing is relaxing,
Like a hammock swaying in shade,
They will jump on board and volunteer,
Claiming the job is tailor made!
Scribes and Pharisees hypocrites.
In with the righteous crowd they stand.
They feign being Heavenly minded,
But in fact are of no Earthly good!
Substitute Congress for Scribes now,
And the Senate has many Pharisees.
But if you’d like to observe a Sadducee,
The President looks like one to me!
I really can’t point any fingers,
At anyone, that’s awful to see.
For if I started my pointing,
They would just point back to me

Kill the poets! Isn't that one of the first things on the list when tyranny takes over? I'll die for freedom, shout for citizen patriotism 'n' call politicians what they are - 'n' it would not be leaders or civil servants. You can point yer finger at this cowboy poet; he's the Patriot Poet of the Albuquerque Tea Party and featured in their monthly newsletter, The Local Exposure. I'm proud to be an American. Fantastic write, Rob.
