Empty
The room is a mess but still empty.
My mind is working overtime but still empty.
I roll and turn in my bed wishing that a part of me was still here.
I listen.
Empty.
Where, what, when?
Questions as the image of her appears from the darkness.
It follows me, consuming me.
When will this beast stop following me.
I plan. I read. I adjust. I try to breath but still I have this mark on my hand.
Love.

Something about repeating empty really strenthens this poem especially since it was impromptu |
