Ode to a Copy Machine
Oh artificial machine
Faithful laborer but not silently dutiful
Not a creator but replicator
Lights flash like a star ship traversing the galaxy
while whispering duplication, duplication, duplication
Alas, the surrogate pseudo job ends
Heat emanates from historical trees
cacophony of smells, sounds, lights
Ink.
wistful dream of wisdom or beauty
duplicated in permanence for the ages

You took the words right out
of my mouth -" Replicator"
Yeah, a fellow Trekkie!
Grins and giggles,

Love this part. I have stood at a copier many times and this describes it perfectly, yet creatively! :)
