Winter Words

Every year the snow falls,
Outside the weather turns to squalls.
When the season blows its annual fanfare,
Grandmother’s words spring to mind once mair.
“Time to put away the old and bring out new,
If you hold grudges, then good times will be few.”
She is long gone now but her words still echo,
In winter her face as she spoke did glow.
Now as winter starts to announce Christmas tidings,
Those winter words in my mind are forever riding.

'Winter Words' is a wonderful poem. It is a nostalgic song filled with love. It tells of the goodness of generation. It glows: a warm tribute to a dear one -- set against the season of snow. Somehow it eases the cold. --Flint
