You’ve told me you loved me,
Though I can’t see why.
I can’t comprehend it,
Even though I have tried.
You’ve said that you need me,
And I hope that is true.
For my wish is to please you,
In all that I do.
You’ve said you’re attracted,
To me in all ways.
I can hardly believe that.
I looked in a mirror today.
But for sure I’m your puppy,
Just wagging my tail.
Won’t you walk me in your garden?
Won’t you let my love prevail?
You can rub me on my tummy.
You can pat me on my head.
You can use me for protection.
Let me crawl into your bed.
You can rename me Poochie
If it suits you my dear
I shall cease all my barking
Whispering love songs to hear.
I will sniff your sweet fragrance.
I will lick you on the face.
I will beg at your shoestrings.
I will follow, anyplace.
