My Beautiful Friend
Would you feel compelled to ask
Indeed would you take me to task
If I told you how you made me feel?
I am caught off guard every time,
That smile, those eyes so deep,
Incomparable and without rhyme
Wistfully play in my direction.
Your highlights illuminate your face
And provide the perfect portrait
For an immortal to commit to paint.
It is an honour to be your friend
And once bestowed one is duty bound
To steer your course until the end.
I am in that ship of amity and fear not
For like the mast I stand tall and firm
And your friendship I do attest, confirm.
