There was sidewalk well in front of her.
Lots of grass on a higher plane.
She could have kept her feet dry,
But stepped in a puddle just the same!
Her black hair in a bun on top.
She stood about just four feet tall.
Her feet stood in a puddle,
In her hand a parasol.
You could see waves in the water
As she slowly trudged around.
The parasol held out in front of her
As the rain came splashing down.
The parasol had an ocean theme.
Colorful print of mostly blue.
Fish swam on it in images,
The dress she wore matched it too!
Her face turned toward the camera.
Forever frozen now in time.
But her brown eyes and her parasol,
From it’s beauty tore this humble rhyme!

I liked this. Your rhyming scheme was wonderful and I could picture her splashing in the puddles vividly in my mind. Lovely piece of writing. |
