FORGIVE ME MY DARLING

Love was always in my heart,
But my twisted mind could not impart,
The feelings that I truly had.
Something moved me to act bad.

Just like I was outside looking in.
Watching someone else, not me sin.
I watched that person break in two
The tender precious heart in you.

I hated the person I had become.
To me my darling, you are the sun.
But darkness shrouded my twisted mind.
It was a sickness of the very worst kind.

Pride and shame have pushed me in,
To a deep oily pit where I can’t begin,
To beg of you dear, please forgive,
And start anew the life we live.

If I could come to you sweet girl,
I’d tell you you are my little pearl.
A treasure I did show poor care.
But value more than each breath of air.

I know you have a loving heart.
I’ve been proud of you from the very start.
And forgiveness is your greatest trait.
Please forgive me dear till Heaven’s gate.
I love you and I always Knew
Even in my failures, you love me too!
