He stares at me, wondering. His dark brown eyes search my face. Theres a certain tinge of sadness in them. I look to the floor. I know its eating him alive to know something's holding me back, but that something being unknown to him. I want to love him the way he loves me; or the way I used to love you, but when you left you tore a part of me and walked out the door with my heart in your hand. It breaks me down to see him try so hard because I cannot fully give myself to him. You carry my scarred heart deep in your pocket with a string attached, the other end tied around my finger. I look back up, his sorrowful eyes are still focused on mine. I reach for the scissors, stretching, extending. Let me go, I'm not yours anymore.
