Revision

Contributed by MrJewsbury on Saturday, 3rd December 2011 @ 09:39:19 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I'm alive, I'm awake! And I'm feeling great!
Oh. Wait.. Time to revise. *dies a little inside*
The pain shall never end, as I flex the pen and watch it bend.
The aching reaching my fingers.
Soon I am wishing this boredom wouldn't linger.
The sun glares at me invitingly. Inviting me. Teasing me.
But no, I must resist, and do as my parents insist.
To sit in this slowly darkening prison untill the work is done.
They imprison me for hours on end, thinking its all the trend.
They think they have won and laugh at me.

But I am the one who is laughing at them, as they left me alone, in my room, in the revision free zone.
This room is for sleep and not for me to think deep.
I whittle away the hours doodling pictures of flowers,
Wishing I was among the birds who frolic in the sky.
Wishing I was that bee as it buzzes by.
Wishing I was elsewhere, doing things without a care.....
My imagination is conjuring images of hope as the sun sets.
I stare at the empty page in front of me,
Inviting me to touch pen to paper.
Telling me to revise and excel.
I ignore it, and tell the world one thing;

My brain will not bloom in this room.

O but your brain has already bloomed in that room!! Nice writing. It reminded me of the days I spent studying in my room.

Welcome to YPDC.
I agree with rick2.
You are a very deep writer as I can see much wisdom in your writing. Maybe you need to leave it laying around and they can learn from you. That is if they will take the time to see things from the spot where you are standing.
You can certainly make that pen go boldly across the page capturing your soul.
This something you can be proud of.
Huggs, blessins, smiles,
emy

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
