Jack Frost

Contributed by lostinmyself on Friday, 2nd December 2011 @ 02:17:40 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I watch the world get smaller
the people leave me,
one by one;
this winter is getting longer,
I pray for warmth,
I need the sun.

I watch the world retreating
they turn their backs
they flee, they run,
I plead with them to love me.
I pray for a friend,
...please, just one.

I'm colder by the moment,
I need a shoulder,
someone to cry on

but through my Jack Frost window,
the world is empty,
the people, gone.

Your sadness and lonely heart shine thru these lines. You can feel your yearning for love. Nice write - it flowed so well. Thank you for sharing.

Still, your basic tends to be better than a lot of people's complex. A good poem shows what you want it to, and hides what you want to only imply. You wrote what you needed to say, and you did it well, so well done my friend.
Take care,
David

I can soooo feel your pain, Phyllis. I wish we weren't half way around the world from each other because I'd give you a big hug!!!!

Still, though, you have always been an amazing poet and here lies no exception.

Love ya'

Timmy

The first time I read this, I couldn`t comment.
This is incredibly well written and incredibly painful to read. You took your raw emotions and melded them into a beautiful piece with no loss of feeling.
