anguished
|
I did not choose life; this life chose me and with it came the misery
Love gained and lost in a hopeless pursuit of some way to fill a soulless void
Every turn fraught with disappointment, every endeavour seemingly cursed in conception
What reception do I expect of my judgment, what end to this tormented existence?
I offer little resistance to the ways of the world and seldom refuse the needs of others
But this state of mind holds little reward from fate
So long have I wished to replace tears of sadness with that of joy
To re kindle the flame of youth in this troubled wasteland of ice
So again I wake each morning and once more I shall roll the dice.
