Heartache & Love

A family divided is one spilt in two
Can it recover well that’s up to you
We love our kids so much
So why can’t they see
The choices they’ve made make us
so unhappy.

Maybe we’re old fashion
Maybe they’re too modern
Our view of a family unit is
our great passion
We won’t change,
you won’t budge
Against each other
will hold a grudge.

Our hearts are empty
Our lives incomplete
But against the love no one
can compete
We miss you so much
But the line has been drown
A family spilt apart is
a family longs.

Why can’t we drop our
Opposing views,
and get back together
as one unit and not two?
A family divided is a family
No more and we
really shouldn’t
ever slam that door,
Families need daughters and sons
to survive otherwise,
they will shrivel up and die.

Very nice poem on your feelings here--it is so hard when families are divided and when there are lines drawn. Nicely expressed in your poem!
