I AM A CHUMP?

I’ve been a chump for a few years now,
Believing that you loved me somehow!
My head and mind were full of you,
And in a way you’re still there too.
But wishful thinking is all I had.
My heart is broken, my soul is sad.
You led me on, and let me believe,
That somehow you belonged to me.
How cunning you must think you are,
To rip me open and leave no scar.
But the pain speaks louder than
A slap in my face,
I am a chump, wrapped in disgrace.
While my soul lays out on the ground,
In a crumpled heap you come around,
Saying you think I’d be better off dead,
In your eye I shot and took you instead!
In the back yard digging six feet down,
I covered you up and left for town.
At the bar I raised a toast of beer,
And wondered out loud
Who’s the chump now dear?
O.K., Dark Poetry is not my normal forte`
I got this idea from a creepy movie!

Watch out, buddy! I'm gonna call the police! Unless, of course, you got any dough... Heck! Even so, I'll call the Poem Police on you for the tricks you play on readers! And now who's the chump? --David aka FlintHunter |
