Lovescape
I picture you and my heart glows warm
You are in a meadow where butterflies swarm
Lifting an arm you stroke the air
You are sublime with nary a care.
Majestic, a stag, commanding the scene,
Marshals his hind and does so serene.
Nature resplendent with you at her head
An idyllic splendour into which I am led.
My courtiers, Doberman, leave without sound
As I lay down beside you on willowy ground.
Ever so slowly it seems time abates
As far on the horizon the moon now awaits
To take her place quickly in the heavens above
I whisper your name to celebrate our love.
Coming awake I wrestle the sleep
Images swirling that I struggle to keep.
Frustratingly these are firmly denied
But turning, relief, you are there by my side.
